From Your Pastor May, 1st 2022

The LORD said…

Over 1,000 times we will read this phrase in Scripture.

Over 1,000 opportunities to hear God speak to us. Over 1,000 chances to know what He expects, requires, and desires from us. What a privilege those have who read and observe God’s word.

Far too many simply neglect His word or think God isn’t concerned with me or mine. Over 1,000 times these are proven wrong. He does care. He is concerned. He wants you to know. When I was younger I remember an acrostic taught us in school. That’s right elementary school. Back in the days of prayer and bible in the classroom. The acrostic was

B – basic

I - instructions

B - before

L - leaving

E - earth

Not too sure why that stuck with me, but it has. I really believe the Scripture is above basic, but that’s the story.

God has not left us alone or to ourselves. He has provided the answers to all our questions and doubts. He has revealed to us the “way”. He is a gracious and loving Father to all who believe. Today we will learn what is missing in our life without Scripture. Why we become discouraged and fearful. We will discover the key to life in this ole world. It simply begins with the knowledge that God has spoken and is speaking even today. All you have to do is listen.

After all didn’t God say in

Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given to you…
