November 29, 2020- From Your Pastor

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Certainly the righteous will give thanks to Your name; The upright will dwell in Your presence. Psalm 140:13

Just finishing up the leftovers this afternoon. While I'm sure you had some of those, I also am sure that we need not allow our giving of thanks to be leftovers as well. The giving of thanks must be of a daily occurence. Not holidays or simple at meal times, but a daily, hour by hour, moment by moment lifting of our gratitude to our heavenly Father. I say to our heavenly Father, because you can watch T.V. celebrity after celebrity telling us what they are thankful for.

However, you never hear one tell us who they are thankful to. It is just that they are thankful. You and I on the other hand look to the Thanksgiving holiday as an opportunity to give thanks and honor where they are due.

It is to God we offer our thanks, our praise, our love. It is Him that we acknowledge every blessing we receive.

As Paul said in Acts 17:28- for in Him we live and move and exist... Therefore, to no one else or nothing else do we give of our thanks. He alone is worthy and because of this great treasure we must not allow our lifting of thanks to cease, only to be heard once a year in November. We must, day after day, tell Him and tell of Him just how grateful we are.

Join me in making this "Thanksgiving" an everyday event in our lives.

I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart: I will tell of all Your wonders. Psalm 9:1
