This is the day which the LORD has made;

Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

There are some things which we can control. Our attitude, our actions, our feelings; even our weight, our appearance and lifestyle. Yet there are some things we cannot control. The weather, the universe, and O Father TIME. No matter our desire we can not slow time down, speed it up or stop it. It just keeps rollin on.

I think the Psalmist figured this out when he wrote Psalm 90:12- "So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom."

As time moves forward, you and I are moving forward as well. Maybe not in wisdom or knowledge or even spiritually but we are moving forward in age. The Psalmist asked for God to teach us to number our days. Each day is a gift from God. Each day has a new adventure, discoveries, and problems. A we move forward we tend to become wrapped up in the here and now. We begin to look within, taking our focus off the future. Before we know it, we find ourselves at the end of our life without the feelings of accomplishment. I believe this come from not accomplishing the important things of this life.

Loving God and loving each other.

When we learn to number our days, we see how few of them are left. We begin to cherish each one with a reason of purpose. We start to live each new day with new hope, new vision, new understanding. When we number our days, we realize that...

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Now I know that the verse above is referencing the day of Calvary. However, I believe it can also refer to any day that you and I awaken to.

So a Father time rolls on, let us take notice of our surroundings and circle of friends. Let us be casting our nets and drawing them in with the catch God provides.

Let us all make the most of the days left numbered for us!
